Illustrate plants seen outside in science journal

Compare different plants found outside

Discuss plants seen outside as a group

Prepare materials for planting bean plants

Plant three bean plant pots

Measure growth of each plant using a ruler

Record growth of each plant in science journal

Water each plant with the designated water amounts

Sketch what each plant looks like in science journal

Make and record predictions on what will happen if an element is withheld from one plant

Discuss predictions with a peer

Compare and contrast remaining plants

Measure and record growth of each plant

Examine plants

Discuss parts of the text from "The Magic School Bus Gets Planted" that were similar to the inquiry and experiment from earlier in the week

Describe photosynthesis (verbally) in students own words

Complete experiment to test if oxygen is a by-product of photosynthesis

Predict what will happen to the candles under both bell jars

Draw what is happening as the experiment gets underway

Compare and contrast each bell jar

Analyze and discuss the outcome of the experiment

Create gestures for each line of the song to act out
